In what could be just one step too far for the Irish public to stomach, NPHET are said to be really considering whether or not primary school children should have to mandatorily wear face masks.

It’s understood that the Deputy chief medical officer Ronan Glynn currently advises that children under the age of 13 could wear a mask if they want to but that they currently don’t have to.

However, The Liberal understands that an expert group will meet and discuss this issue once again as children have gone back to school and that some members in the group are seriously considering imposing a compulsory rule. It’s believed that NPHET have members who are both for and against it being compulsory for young children to have to wear face masks.
