A media watchdog group did a deep dive into the money and influence of the Facebook fact-checkers and what they found was disturbing

Everyone has come up against them. The Facebook fact-checkers. This is especially true if you are active in Facebook Groups. But a new study into the Facebook fact-checkers finds that but for one outlet, all of the fact-checking organizations have a Left-leaning political and ideological bent.

The center-Right Media Research Center recently did a deep dive into the Facebook fact-checkers relevant to American content. They identified nine organizations with eight of them being of the Left-leaning mindset.

The eight fact-checking organizations Facebook engages to vet information in the United States that exist on the Left side of the ideological spectrum are: Reuters, USA Today, Lead Stories, Factcheck.org, Politifact, Science Feedback, The Associated Press, and AFP Fact-Check.

The lone fact-checking group to lean center-Right is the Daily Caller’s Check Your Fact.

Facebook likes to say their fact-checking organizations are vetted by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), a group they claim is nonpartisan. But that organization was created by Poynter, a self-proclaimed journalism nonprofit organization almost completely funded by Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay and a major donor to Democrat organizations and candidates.

Poynter is also heavily funded by Google and Marxist-Progressive billionaire George Soros, whose Open Society group is almost routinely found – in one form or another – at the epicenter of chaos in the United States and US friendly nations around the world.

Facebook has also donated heavily to Poynter.

The IFCN is ruled by a seven-member board from around the world. Two of its members are from the United States: Glenn Kessler and Angie Drobnic Holan. Kessler was the former head of The Washington Post’s fact-checking project and Holan is the editor-in-chief at Politifact, which, ironically, is owned by Poynter.

Earlier this year it was revealed by former Facebook content moderators that there is a systemic bias to the Left at Facebook. Additionally, in undercover videos, some contracted moderators admitted they removed or allowed posts based on their own political beliefs, regardless of Facebook policies.

These testimonies – both offered and captured – bolster the Media Research Center’s findings that there is a systemic bias to the political left at Facebook.

Some in Congress are pressuring the Department of Justice to investigate not only systemic bias at Facebook and other social media giants (namely Twitter and Google), but to use monopoly and racketeering laws to divest their wide-reaching influence. President Trump has stated he supports an investigation.
