Writing under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, the Harry Potter writer’s latest crime novel ‘Troubled Blood’ features a serial killer who dresses as a woman to murder female victims.
Despite this trope appearing in the thriller genre before in Thomas Harris’ seminal novel ‘Silence of the Lambs’ and its subsequent film adaptation, this fictional plot point has drawn widespread accusations of transphobia against the outspoken writer who recently drew mob hate for defining women as ‘people who menstruate’.
