The infection rate continues to surge in the capital

Dublin could face fresh lockdown measures by the end of the week as cases of COVID-19 continue to soar in the capital.

Health chiefs confirmed an additional 357 cases of the virus yesterday with 218 of them in Dublin.

The Government unveiled its new five-stage plan for managing COVID-19 through the winter months yesterday.

The country will start on level two but additional measures were put in place for Dublin in a bid to flatten the curve in the city.
