The elderly and those cocooning over 70 will be allowed to leave their homes for the first time in over a month.
The 2km limit has been extended for 5km from your home for daily exercise for the majority of people.
The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said that there is a plan from the 18th of May to start to reopen Ireland.
There will be a 5 phase system to reopen Ireland over a 3 week stage for each phase with schools and colleges to reopen in the new school year.
The first stage starts on May 18th and the final start will start on August 10th.
The risk of a second phase of the virus is very serious and that the government may need to go back a phase if that happens.
Social distancing will happen indefinitely until there’s a vaccine or until there’s an effective treatment.
