Video footage has emerged of a massive fire which ripped through the Vathy migrant camp on the Greek island Samos.

Thanks to a quick response from the island’s firefighters, the blaze was contained to one section of the camp. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire.

According to the General Secretariat of Information and Communication, there were 7,216 migrants and asylum seekers living in Samos, 6,869 of which live in the Vathy camp – a camp that was originally designed to hold less than a thousands people.
