This is the frightening moment that a thug busts open a man’s face in north Dublin using a weapon in a gruesome attack.

The vicious assault took place near Connaught Street in Phibsborough and is said to be over a small ‘debt’ that’s owed to the attacker by the victim.

The video obtained by Dublin Live begins with the thug taunting the victim and bashing him near a car.

He can be heard saying: “Where are you from? Finglas? Blood all over the place. That’s from a little fool. You think you’re a mad yoke. Two and a half grand you owe me. You’re a dead man.”

A light is then flashed at the helpless man with his attacker saying “you thought I wouldn’t hit you” before he can be seen hammering blows towards the victim’s face and body with the weapon.

The man can be heard begging for mercy and several times, he pleads with the thug to “please stop”.

But, the attacker continues to throw belts using what appears to be a steel bar and warns the man “you better get me my money. Look me in the face and tell me you’ll get it.
